Spreading Transgender Information and Erasing Stereotypes

As you are all aware, Transgender people face some of the toughest social challenges of any group of people in the world right now. A lot of them stems from a great misunderstanding and bad representation of our people around the world. People assume we are all men in dresses, and that we're all in it to fool men into loving us.

Children are being raised to believe this stuff as well, and if the cycle isn't stopped, if more people aren't brought to understand us, we will forever just be that stereotype to the majority of the world.

I want to help change that. I can't do much myself being 19 and all, but baby steps count. Right now, Facebook is the most popular social networking site in the world. http://www.facebook.com/press/info.php?statistics Speaks for itself.

As such, I have created a page there designated for Transgender people, and the people that care about them. I'm hoping that by inviting everybody, that it will eventually spread, and people who are merely curious will google search the subject, if not join the page. In a world where transgender people are accepted by the majority, we create a lower suicide rate for our group of people. We can save lives, by simply letting the world known what we really are about.
