One day someone asked me why
I told them straight
Without even batting an eye
It’s not just me that I do this for
It’s for the millions behind me
Some of them haven’t even been born
Yeah I know it’s not the easy road
And I can’t count the times I have been told
Told off, pushed out, put on hold
They said, they don’t understand my desire
I said look at youtube
Where they tell a nine year old girl
She should be burned with fire.
Never mind how she came into this world
She is still just a sweet and innocent
Happy, healthy little girl
I don’t care if she was born a boy
Or if she was born a poodle
I do this maybe so she, can find a little joy
Is there pain? Is there struggles? Sure.
And trust me I feel it
I’m the farthest thing from pure
It hurts when they laugh, it hurts when they hate
It boggles their minds. That I could give a crap
For their pearly gates
All I’m doing is paving road
Laying Bricks away from the fold
So come on world
I’ll catch the tiger by the tail
Grab the bull by the horns
And keep spitting nails
I’ll go ten rounds with Tyson
And if you think you can take me out
Then go ahead and try son
One day somebody asked me why
I told them I was born male
But I’ll be a woman
‘ til the day I die
