In the Midst of Things
My body and mind constantly conflicting
An absolute ton of hurt it’s inflicting
The real me frozen in the middle of a war
Constantly wishing for fighting no more
It’s beginning turn to destruction mode
The war pauses as I come to fork in the road
It’s always said to follow your heart
What if your heart has no clue where to start
Now my heart must choose a side
It cannot simply say it’s along for the ride
Will it be my body stubborn as a mule
Or my depressed extraordinary mind to rule
This is a huge split second decision
That cannot be subjected to revision
My beautiful mind has been chosen
The real me no longer will be frozen
I can now truly saw I followed my heart
My unbearable old life is soon to depart
My body and mind constantly conflicting
An absolute ton of hurt it’s inflicting
The real me frozen in the middle of a war
Constantly wishing for fighting no more
It’s beginning turn to destruction mode
The war pauses as I come to fork in the road
It’s always said to follow your heart
What if your heart has no clue where to start
Now my heart must choose a side
It cannot simply say it’s along for the ride
Will it be my body stubborn as a mule
Or my depressed extraordinary mind to rule
This is a huge split second decision
That cannot be subjected to revision
My beautiful mind has been chosen
The real me no longer will be frozen
I can now truly saw I followed my heart
My unbearable old life is soon to depart
