On a journey that started before I was born
While still in my Mother's womb
I started a girl
and retained that mind
But was never allowed to bloom

Older now
and able to make my decision
I can turn to reality
what was only a vision
And as I grow into the woman
I should have been all along
Mind will come to body
like words to a song

But before the sun sets
and there is no tomorrow
I will take back the time
God allowed me to borrow
